NDIS & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
 

We are not running any face to face programs due to COVID 19 but several of our programs are online.  For information and how to register to find out if our program are suitable for your clients, call us on 9819 5758.

 

We are  an NDIS registered service provider and run community and center based social and recreational programs. If you would like to attend one of our programs and have an NDIS package please remember to include the program in your plan. Our fees are charged at the rate listed in the NDIS price guide. Our programs are listed below. We also offer a range of free  support services.  

  • CHANGING DIRECTIONS MUSIC

    Changing Directions Music encourages participants to explore their interest in music and develop skills through musical expression. It is a social group activity that supports people to sing, interact and develop social networks that improve community integration and participation.This program is designed particularly for people with an Acquired Brain Injury.

    NDIS CHANGING DIRECTIONS ART

    Changing Directions Art inspires creative expression through the visual arts.Participants can work individually or on group projects with guidance from an exhibiting artist.The group also provides a supportive social environment where members and their carers can interact and develop social skills and networks that improve community participation.This program is designed particularly for people with an Acquired Brian Injury.

    NDIS SATURDAY ART

    Saturday Art enables participants to explore their creativity as they are encouraged to work on their individual art or on group projects.  As well as art, this is an opportunity for participants to engage socially and to enjoy a light morning tea in a supportive environment.  This program is designed particularly for people with an intellectual disability.

  • POETRY AND ART CLUB

    Poetry and Art Club creates a welcoming and supportive space in which anyone with lived experience of mental illness will be inspired to express themselves through the exploration and playful creations of many types of poems as well as art making. The program is run by two art and creative writing facilitators who will support the group through various kinds of prompts and ideas which will inspire different ways of thinking, perceiving and consequently writing and art making.

    NOVA ART

    A welcoming and supportive open studio environment that encourages artists who have lived experience of mental illness to pursue their own artistic practice and vision.The program is run by an art facilitator who supports the group in their creative expression and participation. All materials are provided and a light lunch is served.Participants may attend for either the morning or the afternoon session, or stay for the whole day.

  • AFTER SCHOOL ART

    After School Art supports the creative needs of children aged 11 to 14 living with a disability.  As well as providing a creative outlet, this program offers a supportive social environment where children can develop new friendships. All art materials are provided, and children will have the opportunity to work with different art mediums including paints, pencils, and pastels to explore their own creative expression. Carers are welcome to attend.

  • COOKING SMALL, EATING WELL

    Cooking Small Eating Well is a hands-on cooking program that teaches adults basic cooking skills while introducing recipes that are healthy and delicious.  As well as improving functional cooking skills this program develops knowledge of preparing and eating nutritious meals.  Improving cooking skills helps participants to achieve greater independence, confidence and control.

  • HAWTHORN DROP IN & LUNCH

    Join us at 32 Henry Street for a delicious lunch, discussions, games, reading, iPads, music, and much more.

  • EASTERN COMMUNITY LEGAL CENTER OUTREACH

     

    Free legal advice and assistance on issues including family law, crime and traffic matters, neighborhood disputes and intervention orders.

  • MEN'S SHED

    Accessible to all and provides a safe and friendly space where men are able to work on meaningful projects at their own pace, in their own time in the company of other men. The Shed supports men and strengthens the local community by providing opportunities for men to learn, to share skills to meet new people and to support each other.
