Monday Music Session


Date: Monday 3 February

A music appreciation group for older people who want to get together to have a bit of fun.  Artist facts, quizzes and singalong to classic hits with singer songwriter Adam Pavitt.   Light afternoon tea and coffee is included.

Short Stories Book Club
This group is for senior participants to meet and discuss short stories, discover new authors and share a love of reading and exploring literature.

What makes our community special

A place for us talk, reflect and share experiences, where we can get involved in discussions & workshops, where we learn more about our strengths & weaknesses, where we can increase our awareness & a safe and encouraging place.
Suitable for women 25 - 45 years of age
If you have children 3+ years of age we offer free child care at our Occasional Child Care Center, conveniently located at 39 William Street Hawthorn, whilst you attend this class. Please call for more details.

Mediterranean Cooking & Diet


Learn to about the food, science and health behind the Mediterranean Diet while you cook, in this six week long class. Carmel will provide authentic and adaptable recipes handed down by generations, using the best seasonal ingredients. Sit down and sample the fruit of your labor and chat to like-minded people.

Life Writing

​For people who are elderly, isolated or housebound but not thought-bound.


The Life Writing Program offers a broad range of imaginative topics to make it easy and fun to start your writing journey.Writers are individually linked to an encourager, who reads the writer's work and offers constructive feedback.

Telelink groups allow up to eight writers in different Victorian locations to join in a group discussion, on their own home telephone. Each year, a piece of writing from every writer is published in our book Recollections.
